about

TRM-EP-016

Serial collaborator Ragnarok, hot-blooded hardcore Viking, presents a most peculiar EP on Traumatic, ranging from dark romanticism to abrasive mechanical sound rape. Four tracks that take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride in a tense duality of the mystic and the modern.

“Tales From A Broken Butterfly” is an eyebrow-raising novelty track, featuring NYC hardcore wizard and singer Kayti Grüb: Soothing ambience meets ethereal vocals and sturdy kicks, the result being a fiery, soundtrack-like piece, more song than track; while the remix version by yours truly Xaero even emphasizes the cinematic grandeur – glossy widescreen darkness. The other two tracks are a bit of a different breed, midtempo industrial hardcore that will have the DJs – and punters – rejoicing, with RagnaRok’s solo track “Mk Ultra” held together by a signature melody, and the collaboration with Sacerdos Vigilia (courtesy of Meta4) pushing the distorted aggression all the way.
