about

TRM-LP-031
CD1 - Negation (#01-10)
CD2 - Perdition (#11-20)

Hot on the heels of the Xaero CD album comes the next Traumatic full length, and french doom and industrial warhorse Desolation doesn’t go for less than a double album with a total of 20 tracks clocking in at close to two hours. Expect nothing less than an extensive exploration of Desolation’s stylistic range – which is utter darkness at increasing tempo.

The first part of „A Shadow In Oblivion“ goes under the name of „Negation“ and is a smothering torrent of the darkest and filthiest doomcore around – relentlessly beating the drums of death, and with an addictive signature sound or sample for each track which guarantee earworm quality. Xaero finishes off the first part, his remix teeming with his trademark washes of distortion.
On we go into “Perdition”, the industrial and darkcore-themed second half of this album, bringing more of the hellish brew of distortion, samples and vibrant kicks, albeit at an ever-increasing speed and with more prominent melodic and atmospheric elements. And at the end, Xaero does his trick for the second time to finish off.

„A Shadow In Oblivion“ does what Traumatic always strives for – push the doomcore sound beyond its confines, and present an artist with a distinct character of sound. Not a dry eye will remain with the faithful!
