Kicking off Traumatic in 2021 is up to Desolation whose sound is arguably the edgiest among the label regulars, an aural translation of life as pain. But then – “Bangerz” opens this EP with an almost lofty, technoish feel, highlighting a new trait in Desolate’s art. From there the path down the abyss is paved: Each track accelerates by 5 bpm from the opener’s 140, and each adds a new layer of bleak sounds and raw, obsessive melodies.
A descent into darkcore hades – RIP your preconceptions!
