Introduced by Traumatic on the massive Doomed Industry compilation, it’s time for Batashi’s first standalone release. The Polish producer displays an enormous confidence, infusing his raw darkcore in the 130bpm range with a number of unique ideas and twists: “Otherworld Perception” combines massively distorted kicks with the ample atmosphere of techno, “Fallen Junglist” is peppered with breakcore shrapnels and “Dead Redhair Girl” uses the most on-spot breaks and a melodic sub current to form a perfect dance floor weapon. “We Can Fly” is an act of bravery, combining the dark style with trance elements, and it does work. Recalibrate your death perception!
